- Choose 1 student to be "Mr. Wolf". Mr. Wolf starts at one end of the playing field with his/her back turned to the group.
- All of the other players line up across the other end of the playing area.
- Together, all players call out "what time is it, Mr. Wolf?"
- Mr. Wolf responds by saying a time that is on the clock (e.g. 1 o'clock - 12 o'clock).
- The group then takes that many steps (e.g. 5 o'clock = 5 steps).
- When the players get close to where Mr. Wolf is, but not past, Mr. Wolf can respond with "Dinner Time!" when he/she is asked what time it is.
- When this is called out, Mr. Wolf turns around and chases the rest of the players trying to tag as many players as possible before they reach the safety zone.
- Any players who are caught come one of Mr. Wolf's helpers. (Another variation is to have the ones that are tagged sit out).
- Play until there is only one player left - this player can become Mr. Wolf for the next round.
