How to Play:
- Put students into groups of four (or have students make their own groups).
- Choose one person in the group to be "it". The other three players join hands.
- The player that is "it" will be outside of the circle of three that are holding hands.
- Each circle of three must now select one person in their group who they are going to try and "protect". (Have the player that is "it" turn away from the group or go off the the side while the group decides who they are going to protect)
- On the signal (whistle), play begins and the person who is "it" must try to identify and tag the person in the circle who is being protected by the other two.
- The circle will have to work together, by twisting and turning, to try and protect the designated player.
- The circle must always remain intact.
- If the protected player gets tagged, the roles can be switched.
Variations:
- To make it more challenging, make the groups bigger. With bigger groups it will not only be harder for the person who is "it", but also for the circle holding hands. Groups will have to really cooperate and work together in order to protect the designated player.
