How to Play:
Designate the playing area - set up an area where players must stay within (I usually use the basketball lines to create a playing area).
- To start the game choose two students to be "it" - they are the amoeba. Have everyone else spread out around the playing area.
- The two players who are "it" must hold hands and work together to chase and catch people. (Emphasize the importance of teamwork and cooperation - students must work together). If a player is tagged, that player must join the amoeba.
- When the amoeba reaches 4 people, the amoeba must split down the middle into two pairs. There will now be two new amoebas that continue to try and catch other players.
- As each pair forms a group of 4 they split into 2's again.
- The game continues until the last person is caught.
